Fertigreen® Patentkali®: for a strong, winter-ready lawn.

Why fertilise your lawn in autumn?

In spring and summer, lawn care mainly focuses on growth and recovery. In autumn, the lawn’s needs change. The grass grows more slowly, while rain, lower temperatures, frost and reduced sunlight place it under additional strain. During this period, it is therefore better not to use a nitrogen-rich spring fertiliser, but a fertiliser that mainly supplies potassium and magnesium.

Potassium plays a role in water regulation and plant strength. Magnesium supports the formation of chlorophyll. Together, these nutrients help the lawn enter winter in good condition.

Why choose Fertigreen® Patentkali®?

Fertigreen® Patentkali® is a granulated, low-chloride potassium and magnesium fertiliser containing sulphur. The nutrients are present in water-soluble sulphate form. Its composition is 30% potassium oxide (K₂O), 10% magnesium oxide (MgO) and 42% sulphur trioxide (SO₃).

POTASSIUM

Supports grass strength and balanced water regulation.

MAGNESIUM

Contributes to chlorophyll formation and helps maintain a green appearance.

LOW IN CHLORIDE

A targeted source of potassium with magnesium and sulphur, suitable for a wide range of applications.

When should you apply Patentkali® to the lawn?

Apply autumn fertiliser while the grass is still active and the soil is sufficiently moist. Preferably choose a calm, dry day and spread it before a light rain shower, or water afterwards. This allows the granules to dissolve and makes the nutrients available to the grass.

Practical application

For an even result, both the fertiliser and the way you spread it are important.

1. Mow the lawn

Do not mow extremely short. Remove leaves, twigs and loose clippings so that the granules can easily reach the soil.

2. Measure the area

Calculate in advance how many square metres of lawn you will treat. This helps prevent applying too much or too little.

3. Spread evenly

Preferably spread in two directions: first lengthwise and then crosswise. A fertiliser spreader can help ensure an even distribution.

4. Follow the dosage

Always follow the current instructions on the packaging. The indicative Fertigreen dosage for lawns is 3 to 4 kg per are, applied twice.

5. Water if necessary

If there is no rain, water the lawn. Avoid fertilising frozen, snow-covered or completely dried-out soil.

Fertigreen® tip

More fertiliser does not automatically produce a better result. Correct dosage and even distribution are more important than spreading generously. Consider the condition of your lawn, the soil and the weather.

Common mistakes when fertilising in autumn

  • Using a nitrogen-rich spring fertiliser, which causes the grass to continue growing strongly as winter approaches.
  • Spreading unevenly, potentially causing local overfertilisation or differences in colour.
  • Spreading on frozen, waterlogged or bone-dry soil.
  • Leaving leaves on the lawn, which prevents light and air from reaching the grass properly.
  • Not following the instructions on the packaging.
